2022 has been a year full of great TV shows. I thought I would take a trip down memory lane with all of you today. I’m going to rate and review every TV show I watched in 2022. The list is order of my least favorite to favorite. All of these are new TV shows that came out this year or shows that came out with a new season. Here’s every TV show I watched in 2022.
Here’s every TV show I watched in 2022.
Love, Victor
SEASON 3
The Hulu series Love, Victor returned for a third and final season this year. I was disappointed particularly with the writing and the constant pacing issues. The main highlight of this season for me was Lake (Ava Capri) and Lucy (Bebe Wood). Although their relationship felt rushed, I loved the addition of pairing these two characters together.
I was looking forward to seeing Pilar (Isabella Ferreira) and Felix (Anthony Turpel) together but I was ultimately bummed with how the writers decided to end off with them. Their relationship was poorly written and they weren’t given enough time to develop.
I loved this show so much and I will miss it. The representation and inclusivity this show had was amazing.

High School Musical: The Musical: The Series
SEASON 3
The Disney+ series High School Musical: The Musical: The Series (HSMTMTS) released its third season this year. The lovely Olivia Rodrigo departs the show to focus on her music career after the success of her debut album, SOUR. Her send-off was bittersweet. I’m going to miss Nini.
I did love the spotlight on Gina (Sofia Wylie) this season. I’m glad that she had the chance to have a main role this season. I came in as a Portwell fan but I left as a Rina fan. The chemistry between Gina and Ricky (Joshua Bassett) was electric.
I loved the addition of Disney alums Jason Earles and Corbin Bleu. I’m excited to see what season 4 has in store for us. I know more alums will making appearances.
Rating: 7.3/10
Only Murders in the Building
SEASON 2
The hit Hulu comedy series Only Murders in the Building returned for its second season this year. I loved this season even more than the first. The sophomore season focuses on the murder of The Arconia’s resident board president, Bunny Folger (Jayne Houdyshell).
Before the first season premiered, I never would’ve thought of pairing Steve Martin, Selena Gomez, and Martin Short together but they work really well. I’m glad that the Golden Globe awards recognized Gomez for her work on the show. She’s a great comedic actress. I hope she wins.
I’m interested to see where season 3 goes.
Rating: 7.3/10
Euphoria
SEASON 2
The first TV show I watched this year was Euphoria. The hit HBO series returned for a second season. I’m not going to go into too much detail since I have an in-depth review already on the website but I will say that it was better than season 1. Maude Apatow shined this season which I’m glad they gave Lexi the spotlight because she’s my favorite character.
The acting always blows me away. Zendaya is sensational in this as Rue Bennett. Sydney Sweeney stepped up to the plate and Alexa Demie won me over as Maddy this season. I’m interested to see what’s going to happen in season 3.
Rating: 7.2/10
Manifest
SEASON 4 (PART 1)
Manifest originally aired on NBC and it ran for three seasons on the network but not before Netflix decided to pick it up the sci-fi series for a fourth and final season. Part 1 premiered in November and it trended for weeks on the top 10 list.
This show is absolutely wild. It can be challenging to keep track of everything that happens. It’s entertaining and thrilling. The cast is very talented. If you do watch this season, have tissues nearby. The midseason finale is brutal.
Rating: 7.5/10
The Summer I Turned Pretty
SEASON 1
The Summer I Turned Pretty is based off Jenny Han’s book series. I watched the first season because I knew it got renewed for a second season. I’m tired of streaming services cancelling shows left and right. I love that the story explored first love and first heartbreak in a realistic way.
Lola Tung is golden as Belly. Christopher Briney brings depth to Conrad. Gavin Casalegno brings charisma to Jeremiah. The soundtrack is a Gen Z banger.
I know how the books end and it’s going to get messy and tiring if Belly goes back and forth between Conrad and Jeremiah. I’m Team Conrad if I had to choose but realistically, I’m Team Belly.
Rating: 7.8/10
Ms. Marvel
SEASON 1
The Disney+ and Marvel series Ms. Marvel premiered its first season this year. I loved the creativity and individuality the show had visually and story-wise. Kamala Khan (Iman Vellani) is an easily likable protagonist. Vellani was born to portray this role and she portrays it perfectly.
I swear Kamala had romantic chemistry with every male character. I love her with Kareem (Aramis Knight) and Bruno (Matt Lintz).
I loved the representation. I never knew about The Partition before I watched this show. I’m not 100% sure if everything was accurate or not. I wish I learned about this when I was in school.
Rating: 7.8/10
Never Have I Ever
SEASON 3
The Mindy Kaling comedy-drama series Never Have I Ever returned for a third season this year. Like its predecessors, it was full of drama and love triangles. I loved that we got love portrayed through the eyes of the different young female characters in the show.
I’m excited to see what happens in the fourth and final season for Devi (Maitreyi Ramakrishnan). I’m excited that Michael Cimino is guest starring. He starred as Victor Salazar in Love, Victor.
Rating: 7.8/10
Paper Girls
SEASON 1
And another queer TV show bites the dust. I’m so bummed that Prime Video cancelled Paper Girls. It had so much promise. Paper Girls was a series based off of Brian K. Vaughan and Cliff Chiang’s comic book series. There was representation all-around which is one of the reasons why I love this show so much.
It’s rare to see a show center on young women who are experiencing the trials and tribulations of growing up. I’m hoping that Legendary Television finds a new home for my girls.
Rating: 8/10
Bridgerton
SEASON 2
The hit Netflix series Bridgerton returned for its sophomore season this year. Each season will focus on a different Bridgerton sibling and this season set its eyes on Anthony (Jonathan Bailey). The highlight of this entire season was the budding love/hate relationship between him and Kate (Simone Ashley). I was blown away by their chemistry.
The third season will focus on Colin (Luke Newton) and Penelope’s (Nicola Coughlan) love story. I don’t know how to feel about this. I’m curious to see what’s going to happen. Regardless of what happened with Penelope in season 2, she deserves better than Colin after what he did to her. Let’s see if season 3 will change my mind.
Rating: 8.5/10
Dead to Me
SEASON 3
The third and final season of the Netflix show Dead to Me aired this year. I’m seriously going to miss this show. It was so chaotic and hilariously entertaining. Christina Applegate and Linda Cardellini give the performances of a lifetime in this along with James Marsden.
You never knew what to expect which I absolutely loved. The comedic dialogue always hit.
I’m interested to see what creator Liz Feldman has up her sleeve for her new Netflix series.
Rating: 8.7/10
The Sex Lives of College Girls
SEASON 2
The hit comedy series The Sex Lives of College Girls ran its sophomore season on the streamer this year. The second season is full of chaos and drama which wasn’t entirely surprising.
I watched the first season in September and immediately fell in love with it. The Mindy Kaling created show follows the lives of four college girls: Kimberly (Pauline Chalamet), Bela (Amrit Kaur), Leighton (Renée Rapp), and Whitney (Alyah Chanelle Scott) who are all attending the prestigious Essex College in Vermont.
The highlights of season 2 for me is Leighton’s character development and growth and Lila (Ilia Isorelys Paulino) giving off all the main character energy. I love Lila so much.
I’m interested to see where season 3 goes considering how season 2 ended.
Rating: 8.7/10
Stranger Things
SEASON 4
One of my favorite TV shows of all time returned for a fourth season this year. Stranger Things is one those shows that knows how to change the game. The fourth season is jam-packed with mystery, comedy, horror, romance, and everything in between.
While it felt cinematic and had incredible moments, I felt that there was something lacking. I loved season 3 and the summer blockbuster vibes it had. I’m not a huge horror fan so maybe that’s what got me feeling uneasy.
I’m so sad that season 5 is going to be the last. This show has become a comfort show for me. I adore this cast so much and hope to see them in more projects. I’m not ready for the end.
Rating: 8.7/10
Cobra Kai
SEASON 5
The fourth and fifth seasons of Netflix’s Cobra Kai debuted this year. The fourth season premiered in early 2022 and the fifth in September. I’m just going to talk about this fifth season because it’s fresher in my mind.
My favorite thing to come out of the fifth season is the blossoming friendship between Miguel (Xolo Maridueña) and Robby (Tanner Buchanan). The writers did a great job with having these two reconcile.
This show has become one of my all-time favorites. A sixth season hasn’t been confirmed yet. I’m hoping for one, especially with that cliffhanger.
Rating: 9/10
Wednesday
SEASON 1
In the number 1 spot, we have Netflix’s newest series Wednesday which was released this year. The show is all anyone can take about right now and I know why.
As I said with Stranger Things, I’m not a horror fan but I can deal with it if there are other genres involved. I feel like this show could be as a big as Stranger Things. The Addams Family has had a following for decades.
Jenna Ortega’s performance as Wednesday is award-worthy. I’m glad the Golden Globe awards recognized her work on the show.
Season 2 hasn’t been confirmed by Netflix yet. They’d be dumb not to renew this show for multiple seasons considering all the marketing and records it has beat.
Rating: 9.3/10
