Well, folks, the time has come. The time has come to say goodbye to 2022. I swear every year goes by faster and faster. I wanted to wrap up 2022 by sharing my favorites from the entire year. I’ll be sharing everything from my favorite TV shows, films, books, and so much more. Let’s get into this.
Favorite TV Shows
1. Dead to Me
Dead to Me premiered its third and final season on Netflix in November of this year. Man, I’m going to miss this show so much. The humor is like no humor I’ve ever seen in any show that I’ve watched. Christina Applegate and Linda Cardellini give one of the best performances of their careers. It’s perfect for you love dark humor, drama, romance, and mystery.
2. The Sex Lives of College Girls
The Sex Lives of College Girls returned in November for its second season. This show has some of the best humor. There are rarely any moments when I’m not laughing. You’ll love this show if you’re a fan of comedy, romance, and drama.
3. Stranger Things
The anticipated fourth season of the Netflix hit series, Stranger Things, premiered on Netflix in two parts in May and July of this year. The stakes are higher and the production is immaculate. This show has everything. It’s got comedy, horror, romance, and action. It’s one of my favorite TV shows of all time along with Cobra Kai.
4. Cobra Kai
Cobra Kai kicked its way on Netflix with its fourth season in January and fifth season in September. This show has everything from comedy to action to drama to romance. It always keeps you entertained and laughing throughout the entire season.
5. Wednesday
Netflix’s newest series, Wednesday, is my favorite TV show that debuted this year. Jenna Ortega gives an award-worth performance as the titular character. It’s perfect for you if you love horror, drama, fantasy, coming-of-age, and action.
Favorite Films
6. Not Okay
Not Okay made its debut on Hulu in the summer of this year. Zoey Deutch was the perfect actor to bring Danni Sanders to life. The film shows what happens when you get in over your head and the reality of being a social media influencer. If you love comedy, drama, and satire, you’ll love this film.
7. Do Revenge
Do Revenge was one of Netflix’s most anticipated films from this year. The cast is stacked with well-known young actors and is reminiscent of teen films from the 1990s. It’s perfect for you if you love drama, comedy, and romance.
8. About Fate
One of the most recent films I watched in 2022 is About Fate. It got released in theaters in September and dropped on Prime Video in December. It’s an endearing and charming film about finding love where you don’t expect to. Emma Roberts and Thomas Mann are an unexpected pair but they work so well together in this film. It’s perfect if you love romance and comedy.
9. Enola Holmes 2
The sequel to Enola Holmes premiered on Netflix in September of this year. Enola Holmes 2 is better than its predecessor. I absolutely loved this film. Millie Bobby Brown and Louis Partridge have incredible chemistry. They make my heart so happy. This is for you if you love mystery, comedy, romance, and action.
10. Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery
The sequel to the 2019 film Knives Out came out on Netflix in December of this year. This is my favorite new film to come out in 2022. Glass Onion proved that humor and mystery are a deadly and brilliant combo. It features an ensemble cast and great twists. It’s perfect for you if you love comedy, mystery, and drama.
Favorite Books
11. Book Lovers
Goodreads became one of my besties towards the end of this year when I got into reading. Emily Henry was an author that came up a lot and I saw this book on everyone’s shelves. I knew I had to get it from Amazon.
Book Lovers is about the budding relationship between literary agent Nora Stephens and book editor Charlie Lastra. Nora’s sister Libby drags her to Sunshine Falls, North Carolina for a month. She runs into Charlie at a bar. It would be a meet-cute but they’ve met so many times and it’s never been cute. As they’re thrown together over and over again, the two may start to unravel the carefully crafted stories they’ve written about themselves.

12. Red, White & Royal Blue
Red, White & Royal Blue is one of those books that you just easily gravitate towards. I absolutely loved it and I’m so excited that it’s been adapted into a film for Prime Video. I just hope they don’t mess it up because it’s such a beautiful story with substance and romance but even more so representation.
The book is about Alex Claremont-Diaz, the son of President Ellen Claremont, and Prince Henry from across the pond. A confrontation between the two nemeses has them staging a fake relationship for damage control. But what starts as fake quickly turns into something real. The first son and prince begin to sneak around. But with his mother’s reelection campaign in full force, will Alex and Henry be able to keep their relationship a secret?

Favorite Apps
14. Healthi
Healthi is an app where you can track the foods you eat on a daily basis, your activity, and other things as well. I discovered the app in October when I decided that I wanted to get in shape and better my mental fitness.
This is how the app works. You get a certain amount of bites. I started at 25 and now I ended the year with 24. Each of the foods you eat are attached to certain number of bites. You can alter them because some of the bite counts are inaccurate with some of the foods that are listed on the app.
I started exercising and track what I eat to better my health overall and managing my PCOS and other health conditions.
15. Instagram
What a surprise. I’ve loved this app since it came out. It’s definitely changed a lot over the years for better and for worse.
I’m a visual person so I love posting images and graphics. I used it to post video edits this year which you can watch here. It’s a great way to connect with people you personally know or people you just met.
16. LinkedIn
I never thought that I would ever use LinkedIn as much as I have this year. I’m not going to get too much into because I’m planning on writing a post dedicated to the platform.
It’s been a huge help for me with getting into freelance writing. I’ve been able to network with so many freelance writers who have given me tips to succeed.
17. Letterboxd
I discovered Letterboxd from one of my Instagram video editor friends in 2020. I fell in love with it because I’ve always loved writing reviews about film and TV. I signed up for an account and the rest was history.
I watched a total of 149 films including first watches and rewatches in 2021. I watched almost 80 films including first watches and rewatches this year.
If you don’t know what Letterboxd is, it’s app where you can write reviews for films and limited series.
18. Goodreads
I heard of Goodreads before I started using it this year. It’s app for book lovers where you can add books to your shelves, update your status, make friends, and review books.
It’s because of Goodreads that I found the majority of the books I read in 2022. I’m hoping to read more in 2023.
Favorite YouTubers
19. Merrell Twins
I don’t remember when I first started watching videos from the Merrell Twins. I watched them like crazy this year.
The Merrell Twins comprise of Veronica and Vanessa Merrell. They post sketches, short web series, collabs, and more.
I love both of their personalities. They’re so entertaining to watch and they always make me laugh.
20. Julia K Crist

I love her editing style and her personality shines throughout all her videos.
21. Tara Michelle
I’ve been watching Tara Michelle’s videos for years now. She posts vlogs.
I love her personality. I love how real she is with her community and how down to earth she is.
Her editing style is so pretty and aesthetically pleasing.
