Enola Holmes 2 was released on Netflix on November 4, 2022. The film’s premise follows Enola Holmes (Millie Bobby Brown) as she takes on her first case with the help of Lord Teweksbury (Louis Partridge), her mother Eudoria (Helena Bonham Carter), family friend Edith (Susan Wokoma), and her famous detective brother Sherlock (Henry Cavill).
When a sequel was announced for Enola Holmes, I got really excited because I adore the first one so much. It wasn’t a perfect film by any means but I love the mystery and crime aspects of these films as well as the individual characters.
The acting in this film was so good. Millie Bobby Brown is a marvel in her own right. She’s definitely is a talented actress with quite the range. The fact that she portrays someone like Eleven who has depth to someone like Enola who is sunshine in human form proves that she has a gift.
Henry Cavill was the perfect actor to portray Sherlock Holmes in these films. He embodies this role so well. The casting director(s) knew what they were doing.
Louis Partridge had me swooning in this just like he did in the original. I hope to see him in more projects. He’s so charming as the character and in real life.
The highly anticipated sequel was surprisingly refreshing and incredibly entertaining.
I found the story to be more interesting and engaging that its predecessor.
Not only was the story captivating but it was also educating. To know that what happened in this film with the match factory is so heartbreaking yet inspiring to know that there were women who fought to uncover the truth during that time.
I’m not sure but I wouldn’t be surprised if there will be since the films are based on the series of books written by Nancy Springer. I’m glad that Millie decided to adapt these books into films because they’re just good stories.
Enola Holmes 2 is exclusively streaming on Netflix.
