Who doesn’t love potatoes? Potatoes are one of my favorite foods because they’re so versatile. You can roast them, fry them, and bake them. Today’s recipe is the first recipe of many. I’m sharing with you my recipe for pan-roasted parmesan potatoes. These potatoes work well with every meal. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They’re creamy on the inside and a bit crispy on the outside. There’s that nice bite from the parmesan cheese and the symphony of seasonings makes these potatoes so flavorful. Let’s make them!

Timing Is Everything

Prep Time: 15 minutes

Cook Time: 20 minutes

Ingredients

1/2 a bag of baby dutch yellow potatoes

1 tbsp olive oil

1/2 tsp salt

1/4 tsp white pepper

1/8 tsp black pepper

1/4 tsp garlic powder

1/4 tsp onion powder

1/4 tsp paprika

1/2 tsp italian seasoning

1/8 cup grated parmesan cheese

Introduction

When you’re roasting potatoes, you’ll want to use baby dutch yellow or baby gold potatoes. You can use Yukon Gold if you’d like. If you prefer baby red potatoes, feel free to use those. They do take longer to cook.

You can adjust this recipe to the amount of potatoes you want to make. This recipe is for half a bag.

Taking the First Step

Once you have your potatoes, rinse them well. Dry them with a paper towel. Next, you’re going to get a cutting board and a knife. Cut your potatoes in half long-wise and in half the short way. You should have four pieces of a potato this way. Keep in mind that your potatoes are different sizes so they’re not going to be perfect. Cut all of your potatoes in quarters.

Time to Spice It Up

Now you want to put your cut-up potatoes in a medium mixing bowl and grab a rubber spatula (if you don’t have one, just use whatever you have). Make sure your potatoes are fully dry before adding the olive oil and seasonings because the mixture will end up watery if you don’t do this.

Add the 1 tbsp of oil and mix to coat potatoes evenly. Add your salt and pepper. Mix well. Add the garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and Italian seasoning. Mix well. Add the grated parmesan cheese. Your potatoes should look something like this.

Roasting the Potatoes

Preheat up a large pan on medium heat with a bit of olive oil spray to ensure the potatoes don’t stick when you’re adding the final seasonings to your potatoes.

Add potatoes in the heated pan and cover them with a lid. Cook potatoes for 20 minutes.

Once the potatoes are done cooking, take them off the heat and keep the lid on to keep them warm until serving.

Top them with parsley and/or extra parmesan cheese. Serve.
