Taylor Swift re-released a new recorded version of her 2012 album, Red, on Friday, November 11 as Red (Taylor’s Version). Along with the re-recorded album, the All Too Well: Short Film was released at 7:00 p.m. on the same day. I watched the new short film and I wanted to share my thoughts with all of you. Let’s get into this.

I just want to mention that I’m not the biggest Taylor Swift fan. I respect her and her artistry but I’m not the biggest fan of her music. I wanted to watch this short film because of Sadie Sink and Dylan O’Brien but also because of the aesthetic and story.

I want to start with the acting because it was phenomenal. Sadie Sink and Dylan O’Brien really brought the story to life. Sadie’s acting range is insane and I’m glad she’s finally getting the recognition she deserves. Dylan was so good too and it was cool to see him in a dramatic role.

All Too Well is a song about heartbreak and longing for memories from a past relationship. Taylor Swift wrote and directed the short film so it was clear that the storytelling really captured the true essence of the song. The story itself is too real and I love how raw and authentic it was.

I fell in love with the cinematography. I honestly would watch a feature-length film of this song. It was so beautiful. The cinematography is so aesthetically pleasing and truly captures the storytelling aspect in a visual sense.
