It’s time that of year, folks. Time to put on our sweatshirts and our fuzzy socks. Time to bring out the Christmas tree for those of you who celebrate Christmas, the menorah for those of you who celebrate Hanukkah, or the kinara for those of you who celebrate Kwanzaa. Most importantly, it’s time watch our favorite holiday movies. Not sure what to watch? I’ve got you covered. Today, I’m going to share a bunch of holiday movies for you to watch. Let’s get into this.

Here are some holiday movies you should watch.

Home Alone (1993)

20th Century Fox

Okay, hear me out for a second. This film is kinda overrated. I know it’s like an iconic holiday film but I’ve seen it so many times and I just honestly don’t get the hype anymore.

Home for the Holidays (1995)

Paramount Pictures

This film is so underrated. My mom introduced me to it. When I watched it, it became a holiday staple for me. It’s set during Thanksgiving time and portrays the reality of being a part of a chaotic family. This is one of Robert Downey Jr’s first roles.

The Family Man (2000)

Universal Pictures

This film is so good and underrated. I love the story. It’s just a moving tale of a man trying to find himself again and realizing that what he had wasn’t everything he truly wanted.

Harry Potter Franchise (2001-2011)

Warner Bros. Pictures

If you know me, you know I’m a major Harry Potter fan. I watch it all year round but it’s so comforting during the holiday season.

The Santa Clause 2 (2002)

Walt Disney Pictures

I love the original film but the sequel has always been superior to me. It brings me back to my childhood. I loved this film so much as a kid and I still love it now as an adult. THE DESANTAFICATION PROCESS HAS BEGUN!

Love Actually (2003)

Universal Pictures

An iconic holiday film. If you haven’t watched this 100 times already, what have you been doing? Just kidding. I’m not kidding that I probably have watched this film 100 times. Despite seeing it multiple times, it’s so entertaining and I love films that interweave multiple stories together.

Mickey’s Twice Upon a Christmas (2004)

Walt Disney Pictures

As an avid Disney fan, I love this. I’ve loved this for years. I rewatch it almost every time during the holiday season. I’m down for anything Disney during the holidays to be honest.

The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe (2005)

Walt Disney Pictures

Boy, this film bring back so many memories for me. Similar to the Harry Potter franchise, this is one of my comfort films. Whenever I watch it, it takes me back to my childhood.

The Family Stone (2005)

20th Century Fox

I adore this film. The ensemble cast is absolutely wonderful in this and there are many hilarious scenes. Not only has The Family Stone become a holiday staple for me, it’s a staple for me all year round.

The Holiday (2006)

Sony Pictures

I’ve loved this film for years now. Kate Winslet, Jack Black, Cameron Diaz, and Jude Law were actors I never would’ve put together in one film and they work together so well in this. I’m huge fan of rom-coms but even more so during the holiday season because they’re so comforting.

Little Women (2019)

Sony Pictures

Ah, another comfort film of mine. The casting, the cinematography, and the story are so spot-on. I may be bias because I love Emma Watson but she was such a perfect Meg March. The film feels like you’re getting a big, warm hug.

Dash & Lily (2020)

Netflix

I wanted to include this because I loved this series. It’s not a film, Dash & Lily is a TV show. There’s only 1 season and it came out last year. I loved the romantic bits and the vibes are immaculate.

Love Hard (2021)

Netflix

Love Hard came out this year and I enjoyed it. It’s just a cute holiday rom-com but I liked how the chemistry gradually increased between Natalie and Josh throughout the film.
