Return to Hogwarts is a reunion special to celebrate the 20 years of the Harry Potter film franchise. It premiered on HBO Max on January 1, 2022. I watched the reunion special and wanted to share my thoughts on it with all of you. Let’s get started.
The opening was absolutely magical and nostalgic. Seeing all these actors who played these characters that I’ve loved (and hated) was emotional. Let’s just say that I cried many times throughout this because I definitely did.
I loved the flashbacks to scenes from the films, behind the scenes footage, and photos as well as the conversations between cast-mates and the individual interviews.
The 102-minute special shocked me with is length which I was so happy to see because it’s been so long since we’ve seen this cast together like this. I wanted more honestly.
This special was beautifully shot and edited. It fit the aesthetic of the franchise and immediately brought me back home.
Harry Potter is my second home. It blows my mind that it’s been 20 years since this incredible franchise started. The impact this franchise has had on my life for the last several years is insane. I’m so grateful for the cast and crew who brought these magical stories to life.
I wanted to finish this review by saying that if you’re a Harry Potter fan, you will absolutely adore this reunion. It’s such a nostalgic and magical trip down memory lane.
